The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for overseeing complex, multidisciplinary domains that demand a deep understanding of various processes, technologies, and their interdependencies. This role applies comprehensive business insight to effectively manage operational risks.
A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience working in an operational risk role
Strong background in operational risk (including execution of Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and other related risk activities
Demonstrable experience of operational resilience, business continuity, and crisis management lifecycle
Proficiency in data analysis and risk assessment methodologies
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders
Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to distill complex concepts into clear, concise, and easily understandable communication for diverse audiences
Team player who is open to listening and learning, demonstrating a growth mindset
A university degree in business or a tech-related field, or equivalent experience
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Ongoing execution of the Operational Risk Management Framework
Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs), risk identification, Operational Risk Events collection and analysis, and process reviews
Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) collection, ongoing reporting, and monitoring
Risk event and root cause assessments, documentation of root cause and contributing factors, agreeing on corrective and preventive actions, and verifying closure with evidence
Development and monitoring of risk mitigation plans, ensuring they are appropriately implemented and effective
Assessment of changes and new product risk in collaboration with Tech and Product teams during design, build, and rollout phases
Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and resilience support, scenario reviews, failover drills, and readiness checks; ensure lessons learned feed back into Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
Work closely with various departments (e.g., finance, operations, compliance, legal, IT, etc.) and international offices to embed risk management into operational processes
Promotion of risk-awareness culture across the organization by providing training to targeted teams and new joiners
