We are seeking a bold, strategic, and impact-driven Global Director, Education Policy and Systems Strengthening to strengthen learning outcomes, relevance, and equity across formal and informal education systems.

The Director will lead policy co-design, curriculum modernization, educator workforce development, and public learning initiatives (e.g., financial literacy). The long-term goal is to pilot, prove, and scale high-impact models across multiple countries in partnership with civil society, universities, schools, and governments.

This work will involve collaborating with a large network of partners, stakeholders, knowledge bases, and tools to scale transformative impact to a large number of people.

Responsibilities

  • Set the global strategy and roadmap for the Education domain, aligning policy, curriculum, assessment, and educator development with national priorities and organizational impact goals.
  • Advance national standards and quality assurance (QA), co-creating frameworks with Ministries of Education and regulators (teaching standards, program accreditation, assessment and data use, inclusive and safe learning environments).
  • Forge and manage high-leverage partnerships across government, educational/scientific institutions, publishers, research networks, and NGOs to expand reach and

    legitimacy.

  • Modernize curricula in priority areas (e.g., foundational skills, STEM, social-emotional learning (SEL), inclusion, financial literacy), ensuring evidence-based design and real-world relevance.
  • Build educator capacity through pre-service and in-service programs with universities and professional bodies: training-of-trainers (ToT) pathways, mentoring, and performance–based continuing professional

    development (CPD).

  • Design and deliver large-scale learning programs for learners, families, and the general public using blended, challenge-based, and game-based approaches.
  • Lead research, data, and insight generation to inform policy and continuous improvement; commission studies, synthesize evidence, and translate

    findings into actionable guidance.

  • Measure, learn, and scale, establishing KPIs and monitoring and evaluation frameworks; codify playbooks from pilots and steward responsible,

    context-sensitive scale-up.

  • Stakeholder communications, aligning internal teams, and representing the program at

    conferences, forums, and summits.

Qualifications

  • Systems-level Education Leadership with a track record influencing policy, standards, and large-scale implementation.
  • Curriculum & Pedagogy Expertise across primary and secondary education, higher education, and community learning; familiarity with inclusive and competency-based approaches.
  • Educator Workforce Development (pre-service design, CPD, coaching/mentoring, performance and assessment).
  • Research & Data Fluency (education research methods, M&E, and translating evidence into policy and program decisions).
  • Government & Multi-stakeholder Engagement (community-building and negotiation across ministries, universities, NGOs, and publishers).
  • Operational Excellence (multi-country program management, budgets, vendors, compliance, risk).
  • Communication & Influence (clear writing, public speaking, policy advocacy).
  • Cultural Agility & EQ (emotional intelligence) with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and learner wellbeing.
