We are seeking a specialist, an in-house expert on Mexican Social Security regulations which is needed with regards to the recently launched labour reform requiring digital platform to pay social security contributions for drivers and couriers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily registrations of drivers on the Social Security platform.
  • Administrate cases of “injuries at work” for drivers from the company side.
  • Provide responses to Support team for drivers with questions regarding Social Security registration and coverage etc.
  • Determination and payment of IMSS, SAR, INFONAVIT.
    Procedures with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) related to disability, maternity, pensions, etc.
  • Management of membership transactions with IMSS and SUA (registrations, salary modifications, etc).
  • Preparation of tax reports and documentation for audits.
  • Annual declaration of the Work Risk Premium to the IMSS.
  • Explain complex legal concepts (like IMSS coverage rules) to a non-expert internal support team and, indirectly, to drivers/couriers

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Hands-on experience using the new IMSS Digital Module (or equivalent system) for registration, modification (SBC, status), and cancellation (altas, bajas, modificaciones) of platform workers. Familiarity with the IDSE.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking large datasets, performing mass data imports/exports, and executing mandatory data validations/reconciliations between platform income and IMSS base salaries.
  • Ability to create and maintain clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for registration, injury claims, and support responses.
  • Knowledge of the Ley del Seguro Social and its application, including worker classifications, mandatory insurance branches (Sickness and Maternity, Disability and Life, Retirement, etc).
  • 2–3 years of specialized experience in a Mexican HR or Payroll department, with a primary focus on IMSS/INFONAVIT administration.
  • Experience working with high-turnover, flexible, or gig-economy workforce models (e.g., delivery, logistics, retail, or temporary staffing).
  • Proven track record of navigating and successfully passing external IMSS or STPS (Ministry of Labor) compliance audits is a plus.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Use of official portals (INFONAVIT, SIPARE, IDSE, SUA) to comply with tax and social security obligations.
  • Correct integration/understanding of the base salary IMSS.
