Senior Localization Manager

This role will be responsible for overseeing the localization process, ensuring high-quality localized products, and managing day-to-day localization requests to support our global expansion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in localization project management, AI and machine translation integration, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Localization Management & Execution

  • Oversee the end-to-end localization process for our products, ensuring seamless execution across multiple languages and markets.
  • Manage day-to-day localization requests for Product Localization, including application and support documentation, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure the quality and cultural relevance of localized products by implementing rigorous linguistic quality assurance (LQA) processes.

AI & Machine Translation Integration

  • Own AI and Machine Translation integration projects, including model testing for Product Localization.
  • Optimize and implement AI-driven localization solutions to improve translation efficiency and quality.
  • Monitor and assess AI and MT performance, ensuring continuous improvements and alignment with business needs.
  • Ensure quality by means of Localization Quality Index (LQI) and continuous quality measurement of AI and MT output.

Process Enhancement & Workflow Optimization

  • Enhance existing localization processes and create new workflows based on the current needs of the localization team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and localization tools to enhance workflow efficiency.

Research & Thought Leadership

  • Conduct research related to localization effectiveness, linguistic nuances in different countries, and write articles based on the results.
  • Cooperate with Product teams, Marketing Localization, and UX writing teams on cross-functional projects.
  • Mentor Localization Managers and evangelize best localization (l10n) and internationalization (i18n) practices across other teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in localization management, with a focus on product localization.
  • Strong understanding of localization processes, tools (TMS, CAT tools), and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to localization performance measurement.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of international markets and cultural nuances that impact localization quality.
  • Fluent English and Russian.
